Background
David James and Son Decorators is a long-established, family run painting and decorating business, based in the historic market town of Tenbury Wells, in the very North-West corner of Worcestershire, on the Shropshire and Herefordshire border.
David has been in the building trade for over 40 years, starting out learning trades with a local building company before becoming a self employed painter and decorator. His son, Dan joined the company in 2002, and in 2005 the company was renamed "David James and Son Decorators”. In 2021, David retired, handing over the company to Dan.
We are a well established company in the Tenbury Wells area, with many of our customers returning to us for all their decorating needs.
David James and Son Decorators enjoy good working relationships with other local building companies and tradesmen, particularly useful when, for example a project requires the involvement of multiple trades at any one time.

Clean, Tidy and Careful
You can be assured that we work in a clean and tidy manner, protecting exposed surfaces with dust sheets prior to commencing work. The workplace is kept as tidy as possible during working hours and we leave your premises clean and tidy, vacuuming where necessary prior to leaving the site to ensure that there is as little disruption to the customer as possible.
We are always very careful with customers personal belongings, however we would ask that any items which are breakable, valuable or have sentimental value are moved to somewhere safe to prevent any accidental damage.
We can generally work around most items of furniture, however we can advise you what furniture or items will need to be moved. Sometimes just moving furniture away from the wall is all that is required. If you find it difficult or are unable to move large or heavy items, we may be able to move them for you.
